EU Funding for Business Digitalisation
EU Funding for Business Digitalisation
The European Union has made business digitalisation a strategic priority. Through the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), Structural Funds and national programmes, billions of euros have been allocated specifically to help small and medium businesses build credible digital infrastructure.
If your business is based in Portugal, Spain or another EU member state, you may be eligible to have part of your digital investment co-financed. This page explains the main programmes available and how our digitalisation services align with funded categories.
Portugal: PRR and Portugal 2030
PRR, Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência
Portugal’s PRR includes dedicated support lines for SME digitalisation. These cover:
- Professional website development
- E-commerce and online sales infrastructure
- Digital marketing and SEO
- Cloud systems and managed infrastructure
- Training and technical consulting
The programme targets micro, small and medium enterprises across all sectors. Applications are processed through the national agency responsible for structural funds (IAPMEI and CCDR regional authorities).
Portugal 2030 continues the digital transformation agenda with updated support lines through to 2030. It includes:
- SI Digitalização (Digital Programme for Competitiveness)
- Vouchers Digitalização, smaller grants for micro-enterprises to access digital services
- Support for e-commerce, data security and digital process automation
These programmes typically co-finance between 30% and 70% of eligible costs, depending on the size of the business and the region.
Spain: Kit Digital and FEDER
Kit Digital
Spain’s Kit Digital programme offers direct grants to SMEs and self-employed workers to adopt digital solutions. It covers:

FEDER (European Regional Development Fund)
The FEDER funds additional digitalisation programmes at regional level across Spain. Programmes vary by autonomous community, Catalonia, Madrid, the Basque Country and others have their own active lines.

How We Help
We don’t manage grant applications, that’s the role of a certified consultant or your regional development agency. But we help in two practical ways:
1. Qualifying the investment We document your project clearly: what will be built, what it includes, what the technical specifications are. This documentation is typically required as part of any funding application.
2. Delivering the funded work Once funding is secured, we deliver the website, SEO infrastructure, branding or digital system that was approved. Our deliverables align with the categories covered by EU digitalisation programmes.
Is Your Business Eligible?
The main eligibility factors are typically:
- Business registered in an EU member state
- Fewer than 250 employees (SME definition)
- Not in a restricted sector (some programmes exclude certain industries)
- Project meets minimum investment thresholds
If you are exploring whether your business qualifies, the best starting point is your national development agency or regional authority. We can explain what a typical digital project includes so you can have an informed conversation with them.
Pricing
Our funding eligibility session (mapping your project to eligible programme categories and preparing the technical documentation) starts from €650. This is a one-time advisory engagement before any project spend.
If co-financing is confirmed, the delivery work is quoted separately by scope:
- Presence website with SEO from €8,000
- Platform website from €13,000
- Branding from €7,000
- Managed hosting from €20/month
- SEO content from €350/month
