Joana Malaquias never saw video as just an image. Since childhood, she saw it as memory.
Born in 1995 in Torres Vedras, she started filming small everyday moments early on, almost always with her best friend as the protagonist. Perhaps because, intuitively, she always knew that one day memories would be one of the few things truly our own.
Today, she has turned that sensitivity into a profession.
Videographer and founder of Joana Malaquias Wedding Video, established in 2021, she dedicates herself to immortalizing stories through a documentary, emotional, and honest lens. She doesn’t seek to control moments or create perfect versions of reality. She prefers to capture it just as it happens: the nerves before the ceremony, the silent glances, the beautiful chaos, the emotions no one rehearses.
Her work lives in the balance between discretion and presence. She knows when to observe in silence and when to guide with calm, bringing lightness to one of the most intense days in a couple’s life. More than wedding videos, she creates living memories, the kind that grow more valuable with time.
Beyond the world of weddings, she also works on video content creation for small businesses and influencers, helping brands build a more human, stronger, and closer digital presence. Because she believes a good video isn’t just for showing something, it’s for making people feel.
